Hello, and welcome to make more money without selling your soul with myself Polly Lavarello, evergreen marketing expert and cushy business pioneer. And this week we are talking about New Year New you what I’ll be bringing into 2024. So it’s that time of year, isn’t it where a lot of people are making their New Year’s resolutions and thinking about what they want to take into the new year. And you know what, regardless as to whether it’s a new year, or anything, really, whether it’s a birthday or that September, I am a really big fan of reflecting on how far you’ve come. And similarly setting intentions for what it is that you want moving forward, I genuinely believe that’s where most evolution and kind of opportunity for growth happens to be honest with you, but it’s where we unconsciously just kind of drag our feet forward and keep on doing more of the same, where we keep on seeing more of the same, right. So of course, I’m a big advocate for taking a moment to pause. There’s one thing I see entrepreneurs struggling with, is giving themselves permission to pause. One phrase I have heard repeated back to myself many times it’s I’ve really encouraged my clients to think about it is about slowing down to speed up. Because it’s really true. It’s running around with no clear intention, or an intention, but no clear strategy that can lead you just coming up against the same thing time and time again. So if you hit the end of 2023, and you’re still finding yourself thinking, Where have all my clients gone? Why am I not clear on what I’m posting on social media? Am I still clear on where I should be spending my time, and all of those kinds of questions that you hear entrepreneurs thrown around so often, then it’s a really clear indicator that you need to slow down to speed up, because I promise you, you’ll achieve two to three times as much in the same time, if you get intentional about it. But the problem is, is that we very often tend to go into a state of panic if we’re not seeing the results that we want. And that panic tells us do not sit down do not sit still do not take time to think about stuff because if you’re thinking you’re not doing and so that’s why you see a lot of people just mindlessly buzzing around in the same circle. Not getting very far. Okay, so please don’t make that mistake. The worst thing is the people who need to slow down to speed up the most are the very same people who are the most afraid to, because they’re afraid that everything could come crashing down in a moment if they chose to do that. Or they’re afraid that that one client that might make the difference to their income this month, might miss them if they take a day off to actually just focus on the bigger picture. So how’s it got an introduction to this podcast, I just really wanted to encourage you to please take that time. Ultimately another thing I really wanted to say, which is so so important is it’s not about you know, I know I’m doing myself a disservice here saying it’s not about that next mentor, you hire the next coach. But to a certain extent, that’s true. Because the real truth is, and the thing that’s going to empower you the most as an online business owner, and as an entrepreneur, is to recognise that a lot of the answers, in fact, not a lot, all of the answers lie within you. The beautiful thing is, if you are in a situation where you’re not seeing results, that means that you’ve been at it for a while, right, it means that you’ve you’ve thrown some you thrown some hoops in the ring. And so therefore you actually have what I refer to as data to work with. You can be looking at your social content, and you can be reflecting, where is it that clients have come to me from so far? Have they mainly been from LinkedIn? Have they mainly been from Instagram? Have they been from your emails? You know, there are a lot of online mentors out there who will say you’ll make six times as many sales via emails than you do on social media. But I have to say up until this point, I would say the majority of my sales come from social media. So there is no hard fast rule. There are truths that I’m very confident that you know, as my mailing list scales over the next year that that truth may flip on its head. So what I say now is true. may not be true in a year’s time. And similarly, it’s you know, it’s hard to entirely measure because the majority of people who buy from me via social have also been reading my emails. So it’s not, you know, it’s very hard to see one ultimate truth, one absolute truth. And it’s much more healthy to recognise that there can be a variety of things at play. But ultimately, what I’m trying to say to you here is that, when you look at what it is that you’ve been doing, again, if you slow down long enough to look at what it is that you’ve been doing that’s working, you can see evidence of what you need to be doing more of before you even think about hiring a mentor or a coach. In fact, that can be the thing that helps you decide who is the best person to work with, you know, if it’s that you recognise that actually been shying away from visibility, because you’re not confident with how to show up and be visible, maybe you need to hire Visibility Coach, if you realise the reason why you’re struggling to be visible is nothing to do with confidence and everything to do with the fact that you’re, you’re just not confident on your messaging and your brand and what you’re there to stand for and how you want to make people feel, then maybe you need to go work with someone who can support you with your brand. And if you realise actually, the reason why you’re struggling with a brand is because you’re struggling with your offer. Because you don’t have a strong core offer and a transformation you want to be associated with. If you’re not confident about what’s specific about how you work with people that’s different from everyone else, that maybe you want to come work with me. Or somebody who will help you with your offer and curriculum development, someone who will help you recognise what is special about you. Because if you don’t know that bit first, going to work on your brand is probably going to be a pretty bit of a waste of time, because you do need that foundational knowledge to be able to answer those questions when your brand person says, Well, what do people associate with you? What is your what is the mark you’re making on your industry, if you don’t know what that is, you need to start there.

So like I say, reflection really is everything wherever I see anyone saying oh, I made a bad investment somewhere. Ultimately, it often comes down to the fact that they have reactively hired a mentor with the belief that that is the thing that’s going to make them more money, or they’ve reactively invested in an area of their business without actually giving it the thought that it required in the first place. So yeah, I call this episode, New Year New you and what I’ll be bringing into 2024. So don’t worry, I will be coming to that. But I just wanted to give you a little poly pep talk, because it’s really fascinating to me. And I do get it as someone who I suspect I have ADHD. And so slowing down is not a natural habit of mine either. But I will say that 2023 was very much a year of getting slower and getting more intentional. And, boy, the impact we’re making entering 2024 is on a whole different level. Because I took the time to do that. And I’m really grateful that I did that for myself. So when I want to share with you what I’m bringing into 2024. And this is going to be a very short one. Because I would love to steer you towards my new on demand masterclass, which is also going to support you with what you get to do in 2024. But when I want to talk about what I’m bringing into 2024, it’s intentionality. And it really does boil down to that actually, I was about to add stuff to that. I’m like, No, that’s it. It’s intentionality. Because what I mean when I say that is that, you know, people that recently said to me what social media strategy works best? Well, there are core principles that apply regardless, which I talked about in other episodes, so I’m not going to speak to them. Now. There are core principles that you know, are always true. And I see people doing a variety of different things on social media that work really well. And ultimately, they’re consistent, and they have a strong brand message behind that. And they have a clear offer they’re inviting people to that’s what works on social media. So you know, for me, I really recognise that there are so many different ways to succeed in the online business space. And so I’m not fixated on what tactics I’m going to deploy. I’m not like obsessed with whether I have a successful WhatsApp funnel, or whether I have a successful private podcast, or whether I have a successful on demand masterclass. For me, it’s really about simplicity. It’s about having a really simple aligned office suite which has just been launched to go check it out and Polly lever hello.com It’s about having really needle moving like epic, epic on demand masterclass an epic toolkit to support my aspiring CEOs, which again, are both on probably live reload.com now, and it’s about bringing as much value as I can to this podcast as well. Because I love the responses I get from here. I love it. So really, for me, what we’re bringing into 2024 is the learnings from 2023 where I have to confess, you know, when the reasons why I’m so passionate about slowing down to speed up is that there was a lot of learning in the last year, and I did throw myself into different strategies and tactics which ultimately were a distraction rather than a help. And one of the things I’ve really He leaned heavily into as this year draws to a close. And as I enter the new one is recognising that actually it’s doing a few things and doing them really, really, really industry. Smashing. Well, that’s not even a phrase. But you know, that is that is it for me, it’s about how do I do things in a way that makes people pay attention? How do I do things in a way that makes my brand memorable? How do I create a feeling in you every time you consume any of my content? And how do I ensure that I am obscene ly proud of absolutely everything I create? How do I make sure that everything I do feels epic, because I know it’s epic. That is going to be the difference going into 2024. And I really encourage you to think similarly there comes a stage where there’s enough throwing spaghetti at the wall. And it’s actually trust. It really boils down to trust. One of the things I recognised was the beginning of this time last year, I had a webinar that was performing really well, a sales page that was performing really well, a funnel that was doing really well for me, and somehow I didn’t trust it got to be that easy. And I distracted myself in so many different ways that was entirely unnecessary. So this year is about less and doing more with less. And I should report back as to how it goes but judging by how well my other clients who’ve taken a similar approach have done with this. I’m feeling pretty optimistic. So there you have it my lovelies, this is the shortest episode ever because like I said, if you really want to get the most value that you can for me, I really encourage you go and check out in the show notes. There is going to be a link to my on-demand ebook, also a link to my on-demand masterclass and a link to my shiny brand-new website. So do go check them out. If you heard last week’s episode with Ally may 1 off, you’ll know how exciting all of these things are. I can’t wait to hear what you think of them. Hit me up in the DMS and let me know and next week I will be back to talk about is 2020 for the year of evergreen hint it is. See you then bye
